Cognizant Moving Offices Within Bridgewater

They have decided to move to the Somerset Corporate Center.

They are not new to Bridgewater, but has recently signed a lease to move its offices from Route 22 to the Somerset Corporate Center on Route 202/206.

According to Alan Alper, senior director of corporate marketing, the company is based in Teaneck, and moved some offices to Bridgewater when it acquired Market RX five years ago.

“So we have had a presence in Bridgewater through that,” he said.

Headquarters will remain in Teaneck, Alper said.

“But our lease was up in Bridgewater and we needed new space,” he said. “We evaluate leases and look to where it makes the most sense to open offices.”

Cognizant will be opening in 64,000 square feet in the Somerset Corporate Center.

Cognizant is a company that works with pharmaceutical industries, establishing the number of sales reps that would be needed based on hospitals in the area, and which also serves as an information technology, consulting and business process outsourcing service.

The company expects to open its new space during the fourth quarter of 2012.

“Indicative of the ‘flight-to-quality’ trend we are seeing in the marketplace, this transaction reflects the significant value provided by well-located, modern Class A office space,” said Steven J. Pozycki, CEO of SJP Properties, in a release about the move to property owned by SJP Properties. “In relocating to Somerset Corporate Center II, Cognizant will be upgrading its image, and gains access to extraordinary on-site and area amenities that we feel will improve the quality of work life afforded to its employees. Additionally, we are confident that the company will benefit from our responsive property management team and ownership that has an established track record meeting the requirements of world-class companies. ”

Alper said the reason for the move remains the fact that the lease was up at its current location, and the company decided to determine the best location. He declined to say how many new jobs will be available in the new location, but said Cognizant will continue to bring jobs to Bridgewater.
