Cutting Edge Cryogenics Come to Bridgewater-Raritan

The Linde Group supports science education.

Bridgewater-Raritan High School recently hosted a demonstration of engineering with cutting edge cryogenics — the science and study of extremely low temperatures — conducted by engineers from Linde’s North American headquarters in Murray Hill.

Earl Lawson, senior manager at the Linde Group and head of the oil and gas division, spoke at the Bridgewater-Raritan High School presentation, while Linde engineer, Mike Staub, demonstrated cryogenics.

"The interactive cryogenics presentation provided us with the opportunity to see a different side of science we don’t usually get to experience in the classroom," said Srijoy Dutta, co-founder of the IEEE Student Club at Bridgewater-Raritan High School.

"The mission of the IEEE club is to encourage students to consider the STEM fields as a possible career option through engineering-related activities. The demonstration was enriching and fun and we are all glad we got to experience cryogenics from one of the world’s leading engineering companies.”

The presentation, which also included a question-and-answer session, was part of Linde's ongoing community outreach campaign.  This program focuses on supporting science education in local areas where the company maintains offices or other facilities.
