In Stalling Economy, Bridgewater Limo Rolls Forward

Company has 'managed to survive through the worst of this recession.'

For most, it's an enjoyable feeling to settle into the comfortable and cushiony back seat of an elegant and spacious sedan and enjoy a relaxing ride to the airport or a special event—leaving the stress of driving to a capable and calm professional, and Bridgewater Limousine has been providing an easy ride for its customers since 1990.

Despite a sputtering economy, Bridgewater Limousine is still moving forward, offering personalized service such as wake-up calls and complimentary newspapers, magazines and bottled water.

Established in 1990 by the Quadriborn family, the company is currently run by Syed Quadriborn and business partner, Mohammad Bashar.

According to Bashar, the limousine business is not what it was in the 1990s, because of changes in the economy and technology, but they are still supported by business travelers and customers desiring someone else to take the wheel for a wide range of special occasions.

“More and more business people are holding meetings through conference calls and on the Internet, so business trips are definitely less frequent,” Bashar said.

Though trips to Newark Airport are still the focus of the business, Bridgewater Limousine provides transportation services 24/7 for special events such as weddings, anniversaries, proms and nights out on the town in New York and Philadelphia.

With a base of operations in Bridgewater, the company offers service throughout New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania and Connecticut.

“When Syed Quadriborn’s father first established the business, most of the neighboring corporations and individuals were flourishing, but then the economy took a turn,” Bashar said.

“Like many other small businesses, we were affected, but we feel like we have managed to survive through the worst of this recession,” Bashar said.

Even though his corporate business is not as robust as it has been in recent decades, Bashar believes many people still value the ease and comfort offered by a professional limousine service that can take the stress and pressure off of the traveler.

Bashar said he is hopeful that the economy is about to turn the corner.

“I think the economy will get better again, in fact I’m sure it will,” Bashar said.
