Ingredion Set to Reveal Expanded Research Facility

Company forged by merger of National Starch and Corn Products International bringing jobs to Bridgewater plant.

A ribbon-cutting event Tuesday at the Finderne Avenue location of Ingredion, a $6 billion manufacturer of nature-based sweeteners, starches and nutrition ingredients, will open the company's expanded research facilities at the site.

The company took over the site in 2010, when Corn Products International acquired National Starch, renaming the combined business Ingredion. CPI was best known for its Mazola Corn Oil and Argo cornstarch brands; while National Starch, which specialized in adhesives, as well as electronic and specialty polymer products. 
   
The company has about 10,000 employees worldwide, and is based in Westchester, Ill.

The Bridgewater site had been one of National Starch's primary research locations, and Ingredion has expanded the facility with plans to continue the location as a premier research facility.

The ribbon-cutting will include Bridgewater Mayor Daniel Hayes Jr., and Ingredion CEO and chairwoman Ilene Gordon, and company Vice President of Global Innovation Tony DeLio.
