Leases End for Certain Mall Stores

Several stores at the Bridgewater Commons Mall have closed down.

The Bridgewater Commons Mall has a large variety of stores, ranging from clothes to accessories to food—but three of them seem to have shut down just in the last month.

Timeless, New York & Co. and have all shut down in the past month, and Amy Harris, marketing manager for the mall, said much of it has to do with ending leases.

As for Timeless, Harris said, the lease ended, and another store will be taking its place. The store was originally a kiosk in another part of the mall.

"They were a temporary tenant," she said. "A new store, Time After Time, will be opening this spring in their place."

As for the other two stores, Harris said, the companies opted not to renew their leases, but the companies themselves are not shutting down.

"And it's my understanding that New York & Co. has two other locations within 14 miles of the mall," she said.

But aside from these closures, Harris said, there are some stores preparing to open in the mall in the coming months. One of those, she said, is Red Mango, a smoothie and frozen yogurt retailer.

The business is targeted to open April 1.
