Local Attorney to Serve on State Committee

Daniel Guadalupe was appointed to the position by Gov. Chris Christie.

An employee of a Bridgewater-based law firm was recently appointed to the Advisory Committee of the Center for Hispanic Policy, Research, and Development by Gov. Chris Christie.

Plainsboro resident Daniel Gaudalupe, of Norris McLaughlin & Marcus, P.A., was appointed to the position Wednesday.

"As our state's largest and fastest growing ethic group, the Hispanic community is critically important to New Jersey’s continued success as a state and I value the work the Center for Hispanic Policy, Research and Development does," Christie said in a release about the appointment. "For more than three decades, they have helped hundreds of students and thousands of families realize their very own American dream. As we move forward, I’m proud that my Administration is working hard to elevate the role the Center plays in the Garden State and these individuals will help in guiding the future of the Center.”

The committee itself was created in 1975 to serve as a resource for state government on Hispanic affairs, according to the release. It works, the release said, to increase public-private investment for community-based organizations, facilitate professional development for college students and administer an annual grant program.

As an attorney, the release said, Guadalupe has represented clients in commercial litigation, focusing specifically on business disputes, construction, professional liability, arbitration, trust litigation and international disputes.

In the past, the release said, Guadalupe has represented owners, contractors, subcontractors, building material suppliers, distributors and others, working with such corporations as Lloyd's of London, Swiss conglomerate, National Starch and Chemical Company and Schiller America.

Guadalupe, the release said, earned his J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania and his bachelor's degree from Columbia College. He has also served on many organizations, including the Hispanic Bar Foundation of New Jersey, Hispanic Bar Association of New Jersey, the Board of Editors for "New Jersey Lawyer" and the Lawyers Advisory Committee to the Federal Courts.
