Pharmaceutical Company Brings Jobs to Bridgewater, With State's Grant

Canada-based Valeant may locate subsidiary Bausch & Lomb HQ at Somerset Corporate Center.

A $39.5 million state grant has encouraged pharmaceutical conglomerate Valiant to expand its New Jersey operations, which include new offices in Bridgewater's Somerset Corporate development, according to a report on NJ.com

The grant is part of the $92.9 million Grow New Jersey Assistance grants announced by the NJ Economic Development Authority announced Tuesday.

In July, Valeant announced its plans to relocate the headquarters of its subsidiary Bausch & Lomb, the report said.

The company has offices in Madison, but under the terms of the 10-year program, the company agreed to maintain the 274 current jobs in New Jersey, and could add up to 500 more.

The report said Valeant spokeswoman Laurie Little confirmed the company has leased space at 400 Somerset Corporate Boulevard for the expansion.

Bridgewater Mayor Daniel Hayes Jr. told NJ.com the township had been in talks with Valeant since the July announcement, and “has been working very hard to keep their interest high.”
