Provident Bank Celebrates Grand Opening

And the bank is hosting a special sweepstakes for a cruise voucher.

It could have been the whirlwind of flying money in a cash booth or the lure of live music that drew hundreds of area residents to The Provident Bank’s grand opening celebration on Union Avenue on May 12.

The new office, located at 477 Union Avenue, replaced the branch previously located at 715 Promenade Boulevard.

A ribbon-cutting with Provident Bank executives, Mayor Daniel Hayes and Economic Development Officer Howard Turbowitz kicked off the opening at 9 a.m. The grand opening festivities continued through 2 p.m.

Neighborhood residents were treated to free refreshments, including breakfast and lunch, Italian ice and specially-made kielbasa sandwiches. There also were free activities for kids, such as a balloon artist and moon bounce.

Plus, Somerset Patriots mascot Sparkee stopped by the branch to join in the celebration.

Provident representatives were also on hand to greet visitors and answer questions about the bank and its services.

“We were excited to reintroduce ourselves to the community by welcoming everyone with a special celebration,” said Vanda Ferreira, vice president and area manager. “The demand for Provident’s relationship-banking style continues to grow. We’ve been happy to have served the people of Bridgewater for the last 11 years, and we look forward to continuing to serve the neighborhood at our new branch.”

Visitors also tried their luck at Provident’s Instant Cash Rewards Game with a top prize of $500, and some had a chance to step into a whirlwind of flying money in a cash booth.

In celebration of the new branch opening, Provident is hosting a special sweepstakes for an opportunity to win a $2,500 cruise travel voucher—entries will be accepted at the Bridgewater branch through June 16.

In addition, Provident is offering free gifts, such as a grill master, radio cooler, knife set or insulated carafe, with the opening of certain new checking accounts.

Check with the branch for details by calling 732-748-1500.
