Raritan Limousine Going Stag on Prom Night

Prom season "worst in 28 years" for company.

Prom season typically means the busiest time of year for limousine rental services across the country. Teens want to arrive in style to the pinnacle of their high school careers, and companies like , on Morgan Lane, are more than happy to fulfill that need.

This year, however, business has been uncharacteristically slow for Raritan Limousine. In fact, this may have been the slowest prom season yet for the company.

“You’re not generating anything,” said Danny of Raritan Limousine, who declined to give his last name. “I’ve been in business for 28 years, and it’s the worst it’s ever been. People are not making moves and not spending money like they used to.”

“There must be people out there doing it for nothing, because we’re not getting any action,” he added. “It’s really tough. It’s not easy at all.”

In light of this, Raritan Limousine is doing what many companies are finding they have to do to survive—the company has cut its number of drivers down from six to one, and owns its fleet entirely, eliminating the costs that would be taken on with monthly payments.

Also important to the company is advertising—Raritan Limousine has taken to the Internet, advertising on websites like Patch to get the word out.

“Every bit of advertising and whatever anybody reads would definitely help,” Danny said.

Despite the company’s recent difficulties, Danny is confident that anyone who employs the services of Raritan Limousine will be happy with the results.

“We welcome new business accounts and new corporate accounts,” he said. “We have prompt and courteous drivers, and we're welcoming all new people or old people to try us out.”
