Gaetano's Beauty Salon Celebrating 50 Years in Business

Many times, as I review local businesses around Somerset, Hunderton and other counties, a few names are consistently mentioned as a " local staple" or a "must check out" venue or to try the tasty cuisines.  This time, I found Gaetano's Beauty Salon - www.gaetanosbeautysalon.com in Raritan/Bridgewater area. Gataeno Izzo the owner, is celebrating 50 years in the salon business. Quite a feat, as coming from the fashion /beauty biz where I am running into New York designers and MAUs (thats Make Up Artists) complaining about the tough times and shrinking number of customers. 

So here I am a resident of Raritan going on two years, and across from the Quik Check sits the Gaetano Izzo and his staff. Amazing unassuming, once I walk in - I see to my left a list of international awards from not just eras gone by as one might think but  from top brands like Framesi and Wella that awarded Gaetano with the top spot of colorist or cutting guru.  Gaetano, a first generation Italian, who's owned multiple salons, competed around the world calmly tells me he's been in business for 50 years as if I asked him his eye color.   I think this amazing feat is definitely good to hear, and celebrate with him during his anniversary - official date Friday, November 1st, 2012.
