CASA SHaW Receives Grant From Bridgewater Foundation

The grant is for $5,000.

Court Appointed Special Advocates of Somerset, Hunterdon and Warren Counties (CASA SHaW) was recently awarded a grant from a Bridgewater-based organization in support of its mission.

The grant is from the Tyler Foundation of Bridgewater, and is for $5,000.

“We are so grateful to the Tyler Foundation for its support,” said Tracey Heisler, executive director of CASA SHaW, in a release about the grant. “With the federal funding cuts we are currently experiencing, this grant could not have come at a more opportune time. This grant will help to ease some of these funding losses and allow us to continue our child advocacy mission.”

The organization is part of a network of community-based non-profit programs throughout the state that recruit and train volunteers to work with children that have been removed from their homes because of abuse or neglect.

“We are very grateful to everyone who has rallied in support of our program with these cuts,” Heisler said in the release.
