Donations for Somerset Regional Animal Shelter
When/Where:
Friday all day, and everyday through Dec. 14 at the Bridgewater Township Library on Vogt Drive.
Why Go: Because the library is accepting donations for the shelter from Friday until Dec. 14. They are looking for canned kitten and cat food, dog toys, cat litter, dog leashes, dog collars, batteries, comforters and more.
Cost:
Free.

Center for Contemporary Art Juried Exhibition
When/Where:
Friday all day at the Center for Contemporary Art on Burnt Mills Road in Bedminster.
Why Go: A total of 45 pieces will be on exhibit, chosen by Edwin Ramoran, with galleries open all day Friday and Saturday.
Cost:
Free.

Free Showing of Men in Black 3
When/Where: Friday at 7 p.m. at the Bridgewater Township Library on Vogt Drive.
Why Go:
Because if you want to see the movie, what better way than to head over to the library for the showing?
Cost:
Free.

VoiceWorks Christmas Extravaganza
When/Where:
Friday at 7:30 p.m. at the Martinsville United Methodist Church on Washington Valley Road in Martinsville.
Why Go:
Because three different groups within VoiceWorks are performing signature and energetic Christmas songs, with all money raised during the evening to benefit Sandy relief efforts.
Cost:
$15.

Youth Open Gym
When/Where:
Friday at 6:30 p.m. at Bradley Gardens Primary School on Pine Street in Bridgewater.
Why Go:
Students in grades seven through 12 are invited to attend the open gym to play basketball and other games, while also feasting on pizza and soda.
Cost:
Free.

Somerset County 4-H Festival of Tree
When/Where: Saturday and Sunday at 10 a.m. at the Rutgers Cooperative Extension on Milltown Road.
Why Go:
It’s the annual Festival of Trees with the opportunity to see Santa, check out some beautifully decorated trees, train sets and more!
Cost:
Free.

Applebee’s Breakfast Fundraiser
When/Where:
Saturday at 8 a.m. at Applebee’s on Promenade Boulevard in Bridgewater.
Why Go:
Because Middle Earth is hosting a breakfast to raise money for Leslie Ramirez, an 11-year-old Bound Brook girl with brain cancer. Youth from Middle Earth, the local non-profit group, will be volunteering to serve the breakfast to the community.
Cost:
$10.

Free SAT Practice Test
When/Where: Saturday at 9:30 a.m. at the Bridgewater Township Library.
Why Go:
This is a fully proctored test, of approximately four hours, to know what to expect on testing day, and there will be a comprehensive analysis of performance afterward.
Cost:
Free.

Santa Visits Houlihan’s
When/Where:
Saturday at 12 p.m. at Houlihan’s on Route 22 in Bridgewater.
Why Go:
Because Santa is coming to the restaurant for free photos and keepsake frames.
Cost:
Free.

Rutgers Prof. at the Bookworm
When/Where: Saturday at 2 p.m. at The Bookworm on Claremont Road in Bernardsville.
Why Go:
Rutgers Prof. Michael Rockland is discussing his new memoir as cultural attaché at the US Embassy.
Cost:
Free.

Carol’s Creative Chocolatez
When/Where:
Saturday at 3 p.m. at the Bridgewater Township Library.
Why Go:
Because who doesn’t love chocolate? You will learn the history of cacao, and the steps needed to transform it into chocolate, in addition to lots and lots of samples.
Cost:
Free.
