County Puts Own Mark on 'Amazing Race' With Caper

Families and friends are invited to take part in the County Caper.

Sometimes there's just not enough days in the week, but every Wednesday we'll give you an idea of something to do to relax, spend time with family and just take some time for yourself.

And this weekend is a whole two days of fun as the Environmental Education Center, on Lord Stirling Road in Basking Ridge, holds its two County Caper events Saturday and Sunday.

County Caper is a two-day game that allows for families and friends to embark on an interactive tour of Somerset County parks and facilities in a local version of “The Amazing Race.”

In the game, teams will be sent to various destinations throughout the county, and they will perform tasks, find clues and gather information at each location. Teams will receive a journal to collect stamps and record findings.

And adults will be getting an opportunity for their own interactive tour in The County Caper Accelerated, a one-day game on Saturday.

The tour will take them to parks and other county facilities, and participants will take part in physically and mentally challenging tasks and activities as they find hidden clues during the day in a race to finish first.

For more information, or to register, visit the Somerset County Park website, or call 908-766-2489.

The event is going to be held rain or shine.
