Donations for Somerset Regional Animal Shelter
When/Where: Friday all day, and everyday through Dec. 14 at the Bridgewater Township Library on Vogt Drive.
Why Go: Because the library is accepting donations for the shelter from Friday until Dec. 14. They are looking for canned kitten and cat food, dog toys, cat litter, dog leashes, dog collars, batteries, comforters and more.
Cost:
Free.

Center for Contemporary Art Juried Exhibition
When/Where: Friday all day at the Center for Contemporary Art on Burnt Mills Road in Bedminster.
Why Go: A total of 45 pieces will be on exhibit, chosen by Edwin Ramoran, with galleries open all day Friday and Saturday.
Cost:
Free.

Literacy Holiday Soiree
When/Where: Friday at 6 p.m. at the Bridgewater Township Library on Vogt Drive.
Why Go: Literacy Volunteers and the Somerset County Library System are holding a holiday fundraiser with networking, wine, beverages, hors d’oeuvres, entertainment, a silent auction and more. Tickets can be purchased at the Literacy Volunteers website or by calling 908-725-5430.
Cost:
$50.

Run For the Hoses
When/Where: Saturday, sign up from 7:30 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. for 10 a.m. 5K run and children's fun run in the Bernardsville Fire Co. and First Aid Squad's first "Run for the Hoses" fundraiser.
Why Go: Because you can have fun, work off some of that turkey and show your appreciation for the all-volunteer fire co. and first aid squad, which really pitched in during Superstorm Sandy.
Cost:
$25 for 5K, $18 for runners under 15, and $10 for kids fun run. Information on the fire company website.

BRHS Winter Drama
When/Where: Friday and Saturday at 7 p.m. at the Bridgewater-Raritan High School, on Garretson Road.
Why Go: Because who doesn’t love a little comedy? Students at the high school will be performing a comedy about jurors trying to decide the fate of a young woman in a murder trial.
Cost:
Free.

Bernards High School Class of 2013 Tricky Tray
When/Where: Friday at 7 p.m. at Bernards High School on Olcott Avenue in Bernardsville.
Why Go: Because this is to benefit the Bernards High School Class of 2013 Project Graduation program, with premium baskets, a 50/50 raffle and much more.
Cost:
$10.

“On the Spot’ Figure Sketches at Bernardsville Library
When/Where: Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at Bernardsville Public Library on Anderson Hill Road in Bernardsville.
Why Go:
A professional artist will be on hand at the library to draw sketches for the perfect gift for the family.
Cost:
$10.

Music for Meditation and Healing Concert
When/Where: Saturday at 6:30 p.m. at Raritan Valley Community College on Lamington Road in Branchburg.
Why Go:
Because the holiday season concert will be held at the Edward Nash Theater, and everyone likes a little healing music, right?
Cost:
$15.

Handel’s Messiah
When/Where: Saturday at 7 p.m. at Bernards High School on Olcott Avenue in Bernardsville.
Why Go:
It’s all about Handel as the Somerset Hills Community Chorus performs highlights of the composer’s work, including the favorite “Messiah.”
Cost:
$8.

Movie Night
When/Where: Saturday at 7 p.m. at the Christ Presbyterian Church on Washington Valley Road in Martinsville.
Why Go: Because the church, with the Al Falah Center, will be hosting an evening watching episodes of the Canadian sitcom “Little Mosque on the Prairie.”
Cost:
Free.

Blood Drive
When/Where: Sunday at 8 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Church on Washington Valley Road in Martinsville.
Why Go:
The New Jersey Blood Center will be hosting the blood drive, sponsored by the Knights of Columbus #5959, and donors will receive a $10 Shop Rite gift card.
Cost:
Free.

Lil Kickers Open House
When/Where: Sunday at 10 a.m. at the Branchburg Sports Complex on Readington Road in Branchburg.
Why Go:
Because this program will be holding an open house, and it is an introductory motor skills and soccer program for children ages 18 months to 7 years.
Cost:
Free.
