An Elizabeth resident drowned in the Raritan River in late July after playing a joke with a friend in which he pretended to drown and then popped back up—unfortunately, the second time, the water temperature may have gotten to him, and aided in his death, police said.

A Bridgewater resident was found dead inside a vehicle parked behind Best Buy, on Commons Way, in early August, and Bridgewater Township Police said they did not suspect foul play in the incident.

A 14-year-old girl was struck by a car driven by a 17-year-old on Garretson Road near the Bridgewater YMCA while she was on her way to the Bridgewater-Raritan High School in the early morning hours of Sept. 28.
