No power on Willard pl. Morristown 8:30am. The power flashed on at 2am for about 30 seconds then we heard a loud Buzz outside and it went out again. We are near Franklin. I worry that JCPL thinks we are restored, but we are most definitely not.

Is power on around Early/Mill Sts in Morristown?
C October 30, 2011 at 01:53 PM
Correction on previous post Willard is near FREDRICK not franklin.

Flagler Street & Speedwell Avenue/Clyde Potts Drive (Manahan Village- same street as Neighborhood House) in Morristown has no power . Sad thing is they don't pay electric, so they can't report an outage because the phone number associated with the account is not known. There are alot of senior citizens in this area.
Britney Lassister October 30, 2011 at 02:00 PM
Pine Street (a block from Diner) in Morristown as down as well

100 Franklin St ... the power came back around midnight last night. Are your parents home or in Maine? You seem to be confused... are you ok?
Roll Back Our Tax October 30, 2011 at 02:58 PM
First time our power during a storm did not go out on Ithanell Rd. Extreme weather and higher taxes are becoming a constant event in NJ. Time to move out!
Lynn Anne Cutler October 30, 2011 at 02:58 PM
@michelle j you are the confused one - the poster's PARENTS are in Maine, the KITTIES are the ones being looked after here :) (I had to read it twice, too!)

Thank you for explaining what was lighting up the sky last night. I couldn't figure out if it was lightning or a plane.
Carol October 30, 2011 at 04:27 PM
So happy your cat is okay. :D
happytoknowJesus October 30, 2011 at 04:31 PM
Thanks for expaining what was happening last night. I wasn't sure if it was a plane or lightning.

Do we have power on maple ave in Madison?
Davey Lane Willans October 30, 2011 at 10:37 PM
Powder Mill area has VERY heavy damage due to downed trees. Township team did a great job getting roads open. Will take weeks to get all cleaned up. No power Davey Willans

We would like to thank all of JCP&L as well as out of town helpers from Toledo who restored power to our area on the north side of Morris Township. It was done quickly and efficiently. Since there are many elderly folks in our area and others with medical issues who really are unable to go the shelters, it was a real G-d send! There are no words to express how grateful we are to you and your technical expertise! We wish quick recovery for all other areas since we know what it is like to be without any service for extended periods of time. If any one is in need of any help please contact the Patch here and we can see how we can help you.

Let's not pass out too much credit. Their communication has been inadequate and results have been spotty. Chatham is not expected to be back on until Thursday.
mary October 31, 2011 at 12:41 AM
I heard it went out yesterday (Sat.) at 4. Lots of trees down around the "lake" but I don't know whether power is back on by now. As of this afternoon, it was still off.

Does anyone know if there is power on Dellwood Ave in Morris Twp?
Chris Katz October 31, 2011 at 01:23 AM
Give credit when it's due Jerry. Whether or not the power is back, these guys are still working rather hard and one must take it as it comes. Be thankful for wood in a fireplace to keep warm and the fact that we have two hands to wash the dishes. I did this for seven days with Irene and it drove me nuts. We take so much of our technology for granted. Think if we didn't have any of it. Hopefully most of us have the basics Although tired of the 'camping bit', I'm thankful to have a roof over my head and a warm fire to sit next to through out the night. Tired? Yes. Thankful? Most certainly. JCP&L guys work like crazy with the help of out of state companies to do the best they can, leaving their own families for days on end to tend to US. Be thankful and enjoy the 'olden times of yesteryear' . Just saying...I've learned to chill.
Sir October 31, 2011 at 01:48 AM
I'm not doubting the effort, just the overall timeliness of the results - coupled with their sub par communication strategy. This is the 21st century. We shouldn't have to take things for "granted".

Anyone know iof tree has been cleared from hillcrest road in warren or if power was restored?
Denise October 31, 2011 at 02:37 AM
Taylortown Road == still closed since dinner Saturday. Tree still in the road. Power out. Cars continue to race up the road and stop just before hitting the tree. Wires down.
Denise October 31, 2011 at 02:43 AM
Agreed - we have a tree blocking the road...since 6 pm. Cars continue to race up the street and almost hit it...including a township police car and the road department plow. You would think THEY would have been told of the road closure. We are just waiting for an accident.
Rebekah October 31, 2011 at 02:54 AM
Kinnelon rd?
Jo October 31, 2011 at 03:17 PM
Power has been restored on Dogwood Trail. So all you runaways & snowbirds can return!
Davey Lane Willans November 01, 2011 at 12:20 AM
Sorry Jerry, but i disagree. Our Township crews WERE fantastic given the number of MAJOR things they had to address with limited staff.
gina s. November 01, 2011 at 12:38 AM
Our local d.p.w and township workers deserve credit (even though you demolished my mailbox!). They are always on call, and have to keep working long hours with no thank you at all. They clean our roads, clear up trees and keep our towns looking nice. They work all night long without sleep. It's easy to bash people but let's give a little credit where it's due. And remember.....next time it snows, when the plow comes down your street, give a little thank you to the driver.
