NJ Transit Boosts Memorial Day Service

NJ Transit will have extra trains running to and from New York for Memorial Day weekend.

NJ Transit Rail service will operate as follows:

Friday, May 24

• Getaway service on the Northeast Corridor (including two westbound Northeast Corridor trains with added Newark Airport stops), North Jersey Coast Line, Raritan Valley Line, Morris & Essex Lines (Midtown Direct) and Port Jervis Line.

• NJCL NOTE: In addition to Trains 8247 and 8249 (operating NY-Long Branch, and shown in the March 24 public timetable), Trains 8301 and 2311 (Hoboken-Bay Head) will also operate. Train 8301 is NOT shown in the March 24 timetable. From New York, customers can use Train 3509 to connect with Train 8301 at Newark. See extra Bay Head Shuttle HERE.

• PVL NOTE: The normal Friday service operates. Train 1653 will be extended to Spring Valley as Train 9653. Train 1639 will not operate. 

Saturday, May 25 and Sunday, May 26

• Normal weekend service on all lines. 

• Additional Bay Head-Long Branch shuttle train service (six additional round trips). This will provide hourly service between Bay Head and Long Branch from approximately 7:30 a.m. until approximately 10 p.m.

Monday, May 27

• Weekend/major holiday service on all lines.

• Additional Bay Head-Long Branch shuttle train service, as operated on Saturday and Sunday.

• An additional Port Jervis Line train (88) will operate.  View Port Jervis schedule HERE.
