About 760 JCP&L Customers Expected to be Restored Monday

And 911 were restored Sunday.

UPDATE, 12:55 p.m.: JCP&L has just updated its spreadsheet, and about 761 customers are expected to have power restored today.

11:45 a.m.

Now into day seven without power for some, PSE&G is predicting a few extra days for restoration, while JCP&L is estimating no power at all to be restored Monday.

According to the JCP&L outage report, their estimates are that no one else will be restored Monday.

But 911 customers were supposedly restored Sunday, and very few customers were restored Saturday.

And as of 11 a.m. Monday, 1,136 customers are still without power in Bridgewater alone.

Great Hills Road resident Jim, who declined to give his last name, said he is one of those JCP&L customers still without power. He contacted JCP&L customer service, but received no real answer.

"All they said was, 'I’m sorry' and 'We don’t have any information,' blaming it on their dispatch that provides updates," he said.

As of Sunday, there were 1,671 without power in Bridgewater.

JCP&L spokesman Ron Morano did not immediately return a call for comment.

As for PSE&G customers, the numbers have dwindled to between 2,001 and 5,000, the next step down in the company's scale.

The company, on its website, is now saying that all impacted customers should be restored by Nov. 9, although most are expected to have power before then.

Still, despite the wait, Bridgewater Township Mayor Dan Hayes said his main focus has been on the restoration of power for all residents. He said that more crews are being deployed from the power companies, and the number of them is increasing every day.

And now that the Bridgewater Senior Center has power again as of this morning, Hayes said, those in need are invited to stop by to pick up water or other supplies to get through this difficult time.

"Restoration is going as quickly as it can, although that's little comfort to people who are without power," he said. "That's the number one priority of the administration, and has all our attention."

"But we can never say it's going well as long as there are residents without power," he added.

I received an email from the Mayor's office today in response to my email and phone calls to all Bridgewater elected. In it he says "Based on the information provided by the utility the majority of our residents who are served by JCP&L should see full power restoration by today, November 5". Why is there disconnect on the I formation provided by various sources?

According to latest First Energy (JCP&L) tweet, Bridgewater should have 94% restoration on November 5. @JCP_L: Updated restoration estimates by town for this week now available: http://t.co/EkV2Iyc5

JCP&L has its numbers messed up. Online this morning they said only 800 people in Bridgewater were still without power. They have ignored our area (Van Holten School) for the last three days because they had us listed as having powe, we do not. Now they keep changing the dates for restoration. We were told by JCP&L that they were taking care of the hardest his areas first. Now, correct me if I'm wrong, but since we had a brief bit of power on Friday and then it went out again, doesn't that mean they had us in the loop four days ago? Hello? Buehler??

Are we sure people were restored yesterday? I live off of meadow and there were crews out yesterday but no power has been restored as of yet.

There were crews working on Brown Road yesterday/last night from Virginia, it sounded promising, but they said that they couldn't do anything until JCP&L gave the go-ahead. I was hoping that today would be the day, but my neighbor hasn't called me to tell me we have power yet.

Route 206 was restored yesterday as was part of Brown Road. Brown Road was also re-opened after being barricaded.

Up along Washington Valley Rd, PSEG customers still no power. PSEG numbers are all wrong too. They make it sound like they have been amazing, but all info is conflicting from different sources. Can't get a person on the phone, only recorded message. All of Solomon, Joshua, Sarah, Adrian, Argonne Fm, Arrowsmith out. Friend on Solomon tried getting update online a few days ago for her acct & said no power outage in the area. One chart says Branchburg restored, many are out. They're numbers are skewed and inaccurate. They also do not respond to tweets, they're communication has been not what they tout it to be!!! I feel our mayor and council have done little. The roads in Wash Valley side of town have been treacherous & dangerous. They could have marked the roads so we didn't drive through a dead end maze wasting precious gas just to get food and warm up. Feel completely stranded. Tomorrow I am voting EVERY INCUMBENT (except school board) OUT!!!!!! 7 days without any help from the town & no real/true info from PSEG.

There is downed tree on wires on Stony Brook Dr. that is starting to weigh down telephone poles. There hasn't even been a truck to look at it. They are a terribly managed company. JCPL recorded record profits last year. They have the resources to hire more outside contractors to get things going. I will give them a pass up to Sunday due to the storm. Now it is on them.

Just saw a large crew of trucks going down meadow road towards 28. looked like 6 trucks in the crew.

There was a brief bit of power Friday and it went out because some utility genius didn't bother to drive around the Van Holten neighborhood to see there is a transformer on the ground on Spring Valley Drive . The pole snapped in half. When the power was turned on Friday the transformer caught fire. Since then no one has even looked at this mess. Would be nice to have power back along with running water before this next storm hits.

We have no power here in the Sunset Lake area either. These numbers do not make any sense. The most effective course of action is to contact the BPU. We went through extended power outages for both Irene and the snowstorm. JCP&L have been horrible to deal with every time. Their lack of customer service and transparency has not improved.
denise November 05, 2012 at 11:23 PM
still no power here on meadow rd day 7-if you call jcp&l they have a recording and you can not talk to a real person-no one at the mayor's office has any answers either. most of the power lines around here are intact so why is it taking so long to restore power. just ridiculous
Deanella November 05, 2012 at 11:24 PM
Well, it's 6:22 and still no power in the van holten area. I guess their estimates to restore power today is definitely wrong. This is pathetic.
PJ Lynch November 06, 2012 at 12:19 AM
I just lost power around 655pm and I have PSE&G in Bridgewater.

The Martinsville area off of Vosseer Ave (Hillcrest, Stangle, Brookside, etc) is a mess, especially Hillcrest. We have power lines all over the place. Telephone poles with transformers on them ate leaning into the street. It's so dangerous. I would be happy if they just got the wires out of the road and out of people's driveways. There are people who are blocked in. The lines are such a mess up here it would be a miracle if we get power by Friday as they have predicted.

Parts of Carlene Dr and Van Holten Road are still without power.
roxandnate November 06, 2012 at 01:59 PM
Most west of Brown Road still without power.
roxandnate November 06, 2012 at 02:00 PM
JCP&L spreadsheet still says 94% of Bridgewater residents without power restored yesterday. Not even close.
Nevada Linford November 06, 2012 at 04:15 PM
Sounds to me like they should have kept the Alabama power crews that came to help and were turned away because they aren't union. Who gives a damn about the unions when people are hurting.
