Schools to be Closed Monday and Tuesday

Several of the schools in the district are still without power.

The Bridgewater-Raritan Regional School District will be closed Monday and Tuesday this week because several of the buildings are still without power.

According to a message from Superintendent of Schools Michael Schilder, Adamsville Primary, Milltown Primary, John F. Kennedy Primary, the Bridgewater-Raritan Middle School and the Bridgewater-Raritan High School all have power. All the rest of the schools in the district do not have power.

Schilder said in his message that high school extra-curricular practices may resume based on the coaches' or directors' schedules.

At this point, school will be in session Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, so long as power is restored.

Another update will be issued Tuesday concerning opening the schools for the remainder of the week.

I am very grateful for the news reports from the Bridgewater Patch and thank them for keeping our residents up to date. My home has been without power since hurricane sandy arrived and as each day progresses it gets more frustrating that there is no power in our homes. I hope that relief for all us will arrive soon.
