Bridgewater Township Committee: Filipe Pedroso

Republican seeks election for full term after being appointed in 2012.

Filipe Pedroso is seeking his first full term to the Bridgewater Township Council after being appointed in January 2012 to fill the unexpired term of Daniel Hayes, when Hayes was elected mayor.

Pedroso has served as the council liason to the Creative Arts Committee, and alternate liason to the Bridgewater/Somerset County Library Committee; Somerset County Community Development Consortium; Emergency Services; Green Brook Flood Control Commission and the Raritan and Millstone Flood Commission.

Before he was sworn in on the council, Pedroso served on the zoning board.

Pedroso is a lawyer in private practice at Pedroso Legal Services, in Newark.

"I can bring my experience on the zoning board to the township," he said when sworn in. "We focus on quality of life issues, and there is no better way to protect that than with proper planning and zoning ordinances."
