Benefit Concert Celebrating the Life of Jenna Magliulo

Five O'Clock Shadow Rocks for Jenna - a Benefit Concert

Music. It excites. It soothes. It inspires. It brings people together. It heals. On Thursday, November 21, the Somerville High School auditorium will be filled with people using the power of music to celebrate the life of SHS class of 2012 alum Jenna Magliulo and to heal from their devastating loss. Jenna passed away in October from an aggressive brain tumor. She should have been enjoying her sophomore year at St. Elizabeth College, but that was not to be.

During her years at Somerville High School, the Music Department was Jenna's home. She was a talented, enthusiastic choir member, and a dependable leader of all projects and thankless tasks. Everything Jenna did, whether it was performing, setting up risers, filing music or straightening up the choir room was done with a smile. Her positive spirit was infectious. Her singing voice was beautiful. Jenna was beautiful, inside and out.

"Five O'Clock Shadow," a well-known pop/rock a cappella group from the Boston area will present a benefit concert on Thursday, November 21 at 7 pm in the Somerville High School auditorium. Tickets are $10 each, for general admission seating. All proceeds will go to the Magliulo family. A fund will be established to award a music department scholarship every year in memory of Jenna. For tickets, please call 908-218-4108. Tickets will also be sold at the door. Tribute written by Karen Gorzynski, SHS Choral Director
