Calling All Student Rocket Scientists! Far Hills Country Day School to Host Rocket Science Workshop

FAR HILLS, NJ – Far Hills Country Day School (FHCDS) will host a Junior Rocket Science Workshop for girls and boys Grades K to 8 on Saturday, January 11, 2014 (snow date is January 25, 2014) in the FHCDS Athletic Center, located at 697 Mine Brook Road/Route 202, Far Hills, NJ. This event will be held from 10 am – 12 pm for Grades K-2 Parent/Child Workshop and 1 pm – 4 pm for Grades 3-8 Student Workshop. This event is free and open to the public however a $10 donation per child is requested to benefit the Morristown Community Soup Kitchen.  Prior registration is mandatory.

This fun and engaging event will include a day of rocketry that features building and launching stomp and pneumatic rockets. Junior scientists will learn to measure and record data like a NASA scientist, make rockets from foam, test their rocket in a wind tunnel, and take part in a rocket car race. The day will end with a BANG with the launch of a solid fuel rocket with parachute recovery system!
