Far Hills Country Day School Selects J. Thomas Woelper as Next Head of School

Far Hills, NJ – Far Hills Country Day School (FHCDS) is pleased to announce that Tom Woelper will become the next Head of School.  Woelper succeeds Jayne Geiger, who has been Head of School for the past 22 years.  He is currently Assistant Head of School at The Hotchkiss School in Lakeville, CT.

Of his appointment, Woelper says, “I am excited and honored to be the 14th Head of Far Hills Country Day School.  I am humbled too, to succeed a legend in Jayne Geiger, who for the past 22 years with the support of the faculty, parents, trustees, and alumni has transformed the Far Hills campus and program, and has provided an outstanding education to Far Hills students that combines strength of mind and strength of character.”

Woelper has served as an educator for the past 25 years at some of the finest private schools in the country including Groton, the Taft School and has been at Hotchkiss for the past 13 years.  His education is equally impressive.  He is a graduate of The Lawrenceville School and has received an M.A. in History from the University of Connecticut and an M.A. in Educational Administration with a focus in Private School Leadership from Teachers College, Columbia University.

Woelper possesses the unique combination of experience, knowledge, and passion which are necessary in order to build on our current success and lead the school to even greater achievement in the future.

“I am excited to build on Jayne’s [Geiger] legacy and write the next chapter in Far Hills history,” says Woelper.
