Patricia Willis, 61, Was Dedicated to Rescuing Homeless Dogs

Services set for Dec. 7.

Patricia (Patti) Willis, 61, of Bridgewater, died Nov. 24.  

She was born in Coral Gables, Fla., Dec. 9, 1951, to Sylvia and Nathan Rothstein. Patti was a longtime resident of Bridgewater where she lived since leaving her native state of Florida 30 years ago.  

Patti graduated from Miami Senior High School and received a degree in education from University of Florida, Gainsville.

She loved her career and coworkers at Everest Reinsurance in Basking Ridge.   

Patti was dog lover, who rescued and opened her home to needy pups, and is survived by three dogs; Lexi Lee, Kona, and Dutch.  

Patti is dearly remembered by two children; Jennifer Loughran and David Willis of Bridgewater, and was the mother of the departed angel Michelle Willis and the grandmother of departed angel Sylvia Loughran.  

She is survived by stepchildren Larry and Janet Willis of Apex, N.C., grandchildren Heather and Connor Willis of Apex, N.C., and sisters: Adrienne Cohen of Great Barrington, Mass., Sandie Wernick and Karen Rothstein of San Francisco, Calif., and Shirley Lustig of Alameda, Calif.  

Services will be held Dec. 7th at Cusick Funeral Home, 80 Mountain Ave., Somerville. Visiting will begin at 1 p.m., followed by a Memorial Service at 2 p.m.     

In lieu of flowers, make a donation to Patti’s Toys and Treats for Needy Pups—all proceeds benefit the dogs of Ramapo-Bergen Animal Refuge.
