Thomas Cullen Czekaj, Member of BRHS's Class of 1984

Was a lover and student of nature.

Thomas Cullen Czekaj, 28, died Nov. 3 at Morristown Medical Center.

Czekaj was born in Somerville and resided in the Bradley Gardens area most of his life.

He had been employed in the production department of The Star Ledger, in Montville, and as a line chef at Espo's Restaurant, Raritan, before his illness.

He was a 2004 graduate of Bridgewater-Raritan High School where he played Varsity football, a former member of Boy Scouts Troop 99 and a lover and student of nature. 

Surviving are his parents Thomas and Kathryn Czekaj, his sisters Meghan Byrne and Rebecca Czekaj and his maternal grandfathers John (late wife Alice) Czekaj and George (late wife Nancy) Zervopoulos and aunts,uncles,cousins and dear friends.

Czekaj was predeceased by his brother, Padraic (Paddy).

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 a.m. Friday, at the Immaculate Conception Church, Somerville. Interment to follow at St. Bernard Cemetery, Bridgewater.
