LearningRx Warren Celebrates National Catholic Schools Week January 26 to February 1, 2014 With Special Fundraising Campaign To Benefit Area Schools

LearningRx, a local brain training company located at 34 Mountain Blvd. in Warren is known for helping students of all ages and abilities to improve how they think, remember and learn. Certified brain trainers work one-on-one with students to strengthen attention, memory, processing speed and a host of other brain skills. And the results are life changing.  People with improved brain skills do better in school, on the job, on the athletic field, even behind the wheel of a car. They have more confidence. They’re more likely to go to college and to be successful in their work. Now, LearningRx Warren is looking to bring this help to local Catholic Schools.

LearningRx Warren is proud to support the 2014 National Catholic Schools Week campaign with a special fundraiser for area Catholic schools.  In honor of the national celebration, LearningRx Warren is offering a reduced price on their Cognitive Skills Testing and Consultation Package (normally $299). In addition, the brain training Center will donate a portion of the cost of each assessment back to student’s school. LearningRx Warren’s Owner/Executive Director Marcia Douglas explained, “Testing is the first step.  We use the Woodcock Johnson III Tests of Cognitive Abilities – widely considered the gold standard for cognitive skills testing - to assess each student’s strengths and weaknesses across all of the core brain skills:  attention, memory, auditory and visual processing, processing speed and logic & reasoning. The testing is fantastic and provides much needed information to students and families.”

Douglas is thrilled to  offer this fundraiser. “As a small business, we are committed to supporting our local schools and communities in a variety of ways. This fundraiser is a win-win. Families are getting a great value – elsewhere the same testing is $1500 and up – and area schools can benefit from the financial support.”

According to Douglas, a graduate of Oak Knoll, “There is a terrific synergy between the training we provide at LearningRx and the goals of the National Catholic Schools Campaign. Catholic schools are doing a fantastic job of teaching students and are committed to providing the best education possible. Sometimes, though, students struggle to succeed or to reach their full potential - -  not because the teachers aren’t exemplary, but because the students have underlying weaknesses in memory, attention or other brain skills that hold them back.” LearningRx can help to identify and correct those weaknesses and set each student up for success in the classroom and beyond.
