A Loss - Loss

The Bridgewater Raritan Varsity Football team lost to Elizabeth this past Friday night by a score of 28-21.

The team also suffered a major loss when running back Matthew Eichhorn went down with what looked to be a serious leg injury in the first quarter. This came after the senior captain had already produced a spectacular 92 yard TD run and a totaL of 131 yards on just 10 carries. Best wishes go out to him from everyone for a speedy and successful recovery.

The Panthers were also led on offense by QB Michael Fair, who threw two TD passes and had 336 passing yards. Panther receivers Josh Robbins (8 catches-159 yards) and Nate Melewski (6 catches-85 yards-1TD) also had big nights.

But it was not meant to be, as costly mistakes enabled the Minutmen to come back from a 14-0 deficit and pull out just their second victory.

The Panthers are now in a fight to get in position for a playoff birth and need to finish the season strong. Up next, an away game this Friday night in Clinton versus North Hunterdon at 7 pm.
