Cops: Bridgewater Man Caught With Marijuana in Car

The following arrest information was supplied by the Bridgewater Township Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

A Bridgewater man was arrested on drug charges after a marijuana blunt was allegedly found in his vehicle, said Thursday.

Michael Sokolinski, 18, was charged with possession of marijuana after he was found in his vehicle on Susan Court Jan. 3 at 7:26 p.m.

According to police, officers were checking a suspicious vehicle on the road when they saw a marijuana blunt between the vehicle seats. In addition, police said a bag of marijuana was found on Sokolinski once he was transported to headquarters.

Police made several other arrests for driving while intoxicated and possession of marijuana around the beginning of the new year.

  • Robin Scarpetti, 47, of Franklin Park, was charged with driving while intoxicated, improper use of a divided highway for driving on the grassy median of the highway and refusal to submit to breath tests after she was pulled over while driving on Route 22 Dec. 30 at 9:43 p.m., police said.
  • Moniquea Fields, 21, of North Carolina, was charged with possession of marijuana after she was allegedly found with the drug while in headquarters after being arrested for a warrant out of Watchung Borough Jan. 3 at 1:40 p.m., police said.
  • Police are investigating a reported burglary after a vehicle was broken into and various items were removed while it was parked outside Jan. 4 at 3:45 p.m., police said.
  • Joseph Miller, 33, of New Milford, was charged with driving while intoxicated, failure to maintain a lane, failure to exhibit documents, having an uninsured motor vehicle, refusal to submit to breath tests and having an open container in a motor vehicle after he was pulled over while driving on Route 202/206 Jan. 5 at 12:40 a.m., police said.
  • William Ortiz, 35, of Bridgewater, was charged with driving while intoxicated, reckless driving, refusal to submit to breath tests and disregard of a traffic control device after he was pulled over while driving on Route 22 Jan. 8 at about 5:10 a.m., police said.
