Burglars Strike in Finderne Neighborhoods, Police Say

Here are 4 tips to avoid being burglarized.

Bridgewater police said several burglaries were reported by residents in the township's Finderne section between Oct. 5 and Oct. 8.

Three burglaries occurred in area of Jamestown and Yorktown roads, with power tools, electronics, jewelry and money reported stolen.

Police are continuing to investigate the incidents.

Residents should take precautions to avoid attracting the attention of burglars. Here are four tips for keeping burglars away from your property:

  • 1. Lock doors and windows whenever leaving your home.
  • 2. Trim bushes and trees which might obstruct a clear view of your property by neighbors and others passing by who could see suspicious activity.
  • 3. Use timers to activate lights when on vacation or away overnight.
  • 4. Have a neighbor pick up any mail or newspapers delivered when going away.
