C-N.Com: Judge Denies Revoking Bail for Bridgewater Man Guilty of Tax Charges

A Bridgewater man has been denied a revocation of bail while he is awaiting sentencing on federal tax charges.

A Bridgewater man who was found guilty in November of 22 counts of failing to pay employment taxes and conspiring to defraud the United States in connection with his engineering business was denied a motion from prosecutors for a revocation of $1 million bail Monday, according to an article on c-n.com.

, and his wife Theresa, are scheduled to be sentenced March 22, according to the article. The judge rejected the recent motion and ordered the continuation of the conditions of James DeMuro's bail, namely that he wear monitoring equipment and only be allowed to go from his home to the Somerville office of his business, the article said.

Theresa DeMuro's bail was revoked, the article said, after she was seen with a shopping bag at the Bridgewater Commons Mall Feb. 21. The article said she had previously signed an order that she would not purchase nonessential items.

The pair, according to the article, was found guilty of withholding employment taxes from employees' paychecks and failing to pay more than $500,000 to the IRS.
