Car Injures Construction Worker on I-287 Ramp

State Police reporting injuries appear to be non-life-threatening.

A worker at the construction site where the Interstate 287 northbound ramp intersects with Route 22 westbound was hit by a vehicle early Friday morning.

New Jersey State Police report that Barry Olsen, 55, of Mansfield, was walking across three lanes of traffic from one active construction site to another at 3:38 a.m. when he was struck by a Ford F150 pickup truck. The truck was reportedly traveling on the ramp from I-287 northbound.

There were no police or traffic patrols at that time.

Olsen was taken to Somerset Medical Center, where he complained of shoulder and neck plain. There were no life-threatening injuries, according to the State Police.

A complete accident report is pending.
