One townhouse was destroyed and six others suffered damage caused by smoke during a Saturday morning fire on Vroom Drive, according to officials.
The fire, which reportedly ignited around 4 a.m., started on the first floor of a three-story multi-unit condo complex located at 3706 Vroom Drive.
According to NJ.com, one firefighter was injured battling the blaze.

According to reports, firefighters were forced to cut open the roof of the townhouse for ventilation, and had all visible fire knocked down within 20 minutes. Crews continued working and had the entire blaze under control at the 90 minute mark, according to officials.
The fire was held to the original two involved units, but another six units in the complex suffered smoke damage, according to reports.

Assisting the Country Hills Volunteer Fire Company was the North Branch Volunteer Fire Department, Bridgewater Rescue 30, Bridgewater Police, Bradley Gardens EMS, Bridgewater Fire Official, and Somerset County Car 99A.
