Person Found Dead Behind Best Buy, Police Say

Police say foul play is not suspected.

A township resident was found dead in a vehicle behind  on Commons Way Friday morning, according to Bridgewater Township Police Chief Richard Borden.

Foul play is not suspected in the incident, Borden said.

According to Borden, the Bridgewater Township Police Department Communications received information about an endangered resident on Friday. Officers, he said, conducted an extensive search of the residence of that person and surrounding areas, but were unable to find anyone.

"Following a concerted effort to locate the individual, Bridgewater Township Police officers expanded their search area and located the individual in a vehicle behind the Best Buy Store located in our township," he said.

At that time, Borden said, the person was found to be dead.

The road behind the shopping center on Commons Way was closed off, but the stores remained open during the investigation.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing, and police have not released the identity of the individual.
