Woman Seriously Hurt After Car Flips Over On I-78

Accident occurred around 2 a.m. on Saturday.

A single car accident on Interstate 78 in Bedminster near the ramp to Interstate 287 on Saturday morning left the driver of a white Nissan Sentra hospitalized with serious injuries, according to Sgt. Bryan Polite of the New Jersey State Police.

Andrea Sanchez, 23, of Washington Township, was trapped in her overturned vehicle when the state police arrived on the scene at 2 a.m., Polite said.

After being freed from the car, which had overturned onto its passenger side, Sanchez was transported to Robert Wood Johnson Hospital in New Brunswick, Polite said.

The and the Somerset Medical Center Mobile Intensive Care Unit assisted at the scene and the accident is still under investigation, Polite said.
