Finderne Fire Crew Responds to Hillsborough Blaze

No injuries reported in fire caused by vehicle in garage.

Christmas was cut short for volunteers at Finderne Volunteer Fire Company, when crews joined in to help fight a Hillsborough residential fire, Wednesday.

Hillsborough Police said a vehicle parked in the garage of a Wesley Road residence is believed to have caused a fire that led to substantial damage to the residence, reported at 11:06 p.m. Wednesday.

No injuries were reported. Officials said the fire is not considered suspicious.

In addition to police and volunteer firefighters responding, Hillsborough EMS, building department and fire safety staff were at the scene. Firefighters from Neshanic Volunteer Fire Co., and the Somerville EMS and Somerset County Fire and EMS Coordinators also responded.
