A 47-year-old Bridgewater man has been indicted on multiple charges of sexual assault with minors, following an original complaint filed in Bernards Township Court, according to information at the Somerset County Courthouse in Somerville.
Carlos Alberto Peralta was indicted by a Somerset County Courthouse on June 28, according information on file at the courthouse on several charges of second-degree sexual assault, according to his indictment file.
The original charge against Peralta was filed on March 16, according to information on file at the criminal case management office for the Somerset County Courthouse.
According to a report on NJ.com, Peralta then was charged with having sex with a child younger than 13 years old, at times anywhere between 20 years ago and in 1998. The original complaint, filed in Bernards Township, identified the victim as L.C.B., and said her birthdate was May 5, 1984, NJ.com said.
The complaint accuses Peralta of sexually assaulting the now 28-year-old between May 5, 1991, and May 5, 1998 in either Bernardsville or Bernards Township, when the victim was less than 13 years old, according to NJ.com.
The nine-count indictment against Peralta by a Somerset County Grand Jury now includes similar charges involving three additional children, most recently in November 2005, NJ.com said.
NJ.com says Peralta also is charged with attempting to have illegal sexual contact with, and a count of engaging in conduct to debauch the morals of a three different victims, from Bridgewater.
