Investigation Continuing on Bomb Threat

Police are still investigating last week's threat in the high school.

Bridgewater Township Police Lt. Al Nicaretta said Friday that the police are still investigating the bomb threat March 2 that caused a delayed opening at the .

"It is still being worked on," he said. "There are no suspects yet."

The was emailed to the district administration the evening before. After K-9 units sweeped the building for several hours, the threat was determined to be false, and the school day went on without any further interruption.

Some students said the situation was a little scary, and others assumed it was a prank.

"I personally assumed it was a prank of some sort," said senior Jonathan Lu. "Based on Facebook comments from my classmates, some people were disappointed by our school's track record of receiving bomb threats, and dismayed by the sentiments expressed by such a threat, even if the threat itself wasn't backed by any serious hardware."

And freshman Natasha Mascarenhas said she was frightened by possibility of a bomb.

"As a freshman, it doesn't make me feel too safe in the future," she said. "But the K-9 search has assured me that there is nothing in the school. But on the other hand, our school is an open campus and very vulnerable, so I hope precautions are taken toward guarding the school."

"As for the next three years, I can only hope that the school continues to remain safe and bomb free," she added.
