Man Taking Photos of Kids at Bus Stop Had Child Porn, Report Says

Bernards man faces child pornography and endangering the welfare of a child charges.

A Bernards man who was seen taking photos of students near a school bus stop last month in Bridgewater has been charged with possession of child pornography, police said.

John Schulenberg, 59, came to police's attention after reports he photographed students at the bus stop at Adamsville Road and Chelsea Way on Sept. 17, according to a report on MyCentralJersey.com.

Schulenberg met with investigators at Bridgewater Police Headquarters that day and consented to a search of his 2008 Chrysler Sebring—where police found women's underwear, soiled tissues and four thumb drive memory cards, the article said.

After obtaining a search warrant to check the drives, police said they found one contained nudes photos of children and some showing children under 15 engaging in sexual contact, the article said.

He was charged with endangering the welfare of a child by possession of pornographic images, according to the affidavit filed in state Superior Court.
