New York Man Allegedly Steals From Wegmans

Police are investigating several thefts and other crimes.

Bridgewater Township Police arrested a New York man for allegedly stealing more than $200 worth of items from .

Aleksandr Lifshits, 75, was charged after he was allegedly found with $262.82 worth of merchandise.

Police are investigating several other thefts and made an arrest for soliciting over a week-long period.

  • A Southside Avenue resident reported at 5:45 a.m. May 11 that someone had stolen the landscape lighting from the front yard of her home in the overnight hours.
  • Fareed Morcos, 25, of Union, was charged with soliciting without a permit after police responded to a complaint of a solicitor in the parking lot at 12:30 p.m. May 13.
  • Police are investigating a report from a Rector Road resident at 11 p.m. May 15 that someone entered her unlocked vehicle and removed a GPS unit. The GPS was valued at $450.
