New York Resident Arrested on Prostitution Charge

Shin Hon Wan is arrested after soliciting an undercover detective for a sexual act in Holistic Massage Therapy on Union Avenue.

A Flushing, New York resident was arrested Wednesday on a charge of prostitution following an undercover operation at Holistic Massage Therapy on Union Avenue.

Shin Hon Wan, 40, was charged with engaging in prostitution after propositioning an undercover detective.

According to Somerset County Prosecutor Geoffrey Soriano, an undercover detective with the Somerset County Prosecutor's Office Organized Crime and Narcotics Task Force entered Holistic Massage Therapy at 7:45 p.m. Wednesday where he met up with Hon Wan.

Soriano said Hon Wan propositioned the undercover detective for a sexual act in exchange for money. She was immediately arrested, Soriano said, and transported to the Bridgewater Township Police Department.

Hon Wan was processed and released on her own recognizance.

According to Soriano, this was a quality of life investigation that was initiated after the prosecutor's office received several complaints from Bridgewater Township residents.
