NJ.Com: Bridgewater Couple Sentenced for Tax Fraud

TAD Associates LLC owners sentenced to prison for failing to pay employment taxes.

According to an article on nj.com, Bridgewater couple  were each sentenced to 51 months in prison, and three years of supervised release, after being found guilty in November of one count of conspiracy to defraud the United States and 21 counts of failing to pay employment taxes.

The article states that the judge has also ordered the couple to pay $1,337,952.12 in restitution to the IRS.

The couple co-owned an engineering and surveying firm called TAD Associates LLC, and, from 2002 through 2008 federal authorities said, they withheld unemployment taxes from paychecks, but failed to pay about $546,247.39 in taxes to the IRS, according to the article.
