Police Blotter: DWIs, Improper Behavior and a Burglary Attempt

The Bridgewater Township Police Department released its blotter for Aug. 4.

  • Edwin Rios, 52, of Somerville, was charged July 26 with driving while intoxicated, careless driving and driving with a suspended driver's license after he was involved in a motor vehicle crash on Finderne Avenue.
  • Abdellati Elkotni, 43, of Bedminster, was charged July 29 with driving while intoxicated and improper maintenance of headlamps after he was pulled over while driving on Route 202/206.
  • A Washington Valley Road resident reported July 30 that someone tried to force open the front door of the house in an attempt to enter.
  • Aimee Garcia, 35, of Somerville, was charged July 31 with driving while intoxicated, careless driving and refusal to submit to breath tests after she was involved in a motor vehicle crash on Route 22.
  • Julio Hernandez, 30, of Plainfield was charged Aug. 1 with improper behavior after he was caught urinating in the parking lot of the Bridgewater Township Municipal Complex, police said. Bridgewater Township Police Chief Richard Borden made mention of this incident during the discussion, and subsequent denial, Monday of a proposed ordinance to specify specific penalties for public urination and defecation.
