Police Continuing to Investigate Vandalism Over July 4th Weekend

More than a dozen mailboxes were damaged in the Van Holten Road area

Police are continuing to investigate a vandalism spree in the neighborhood of Van Holten and Country Club roads over the Fourth of July weekend.
More than a dozen mailboxes and street signs were damaged Friday night.

A Country Club Road resident, whose mailbox had been damaged, told Patch there had been a “big party” Friday night in the neighborhood.

Mailboxes were also damaged on Stony Brook Road and other roads.

“I'm guessing the mailboxes along roads are easy targets for vandals,” the resident said.

The Country Club Road resident said that their mailbox had been knocked off its post once previously.
