Police Investigating Attempted Car Burglary

And police make an arrest for possession of drug paraphernalia.

Police responded to a report of a vehicle burglary attempt—but fortunately damage from the perpetrators prevented it from being stolen.

According to the Bridgewater Township Police, someone entered a vehicle parked at the Bridgewater Commons Mall April 10 and attempted to steal the vehicle.

But the steering column was damaged during the attempt.

Police also made an arrest for drugs, and are searching for someone who stole a GPS from a vehicle.

  • Police responded to a report April 10 that someone entered a vehicle parked in the Home Depot parking lot and stole a Tom Tom GPS unit. The unit was valued at a total of $240.
  • Lei Shi, 23, of Edison, was charged with possession of a marijuana smoking pipe and being under the influence of a controlled dangerous substance when he was arrested April 10.
