Police: New Brunswick Man Gave False Name in Traffic Stop

The following arrest information was supplied by the Bridgewater Township Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

A New Brunswick man was charged with hindering apprehension during a motor vehicle stop on Route 28 at 1:17 a.m. April 21.

Raymundo Luis Clavel, 31, was charged with providing false information, failure to observe a signal, being an unlicensed drive and careless driving.

Police also made several arrests for shoplifting and driving while intoxicated.

  • Taylor Bannon, 18, of Somerset, was charged with shoplifting after she was allegedly found with $235.48 worth of merchandise from at 9:02 p.m. April 18. Bannon was processed and released.
  • David Peszlen, 44, of Pennsylvania, was charged with driving while intoxicated, careless driving and driving the wrong way on a one-way street after he was pulled over while driving on Finderne Avenue at 9:40 p.m. April 19.
  • Ramod Harris, 19, of Newark, was charged with disorderly conduct after an incident at the Alternative High School at 12:53 p.m. April 19. Harris was processed and released.
  • Police are investigating a report that someone removed 66 polo shirts from between 10 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. April 20. The shirts were valued at $5,012.
  • Maria Vamos, 53, of Piscataway, was charged with shoplifting after she was allegedly found with $103 worth of merchandise from at 2:45 p.m. April 23. Vamos was processed and released.
  • Joseph Thomas, 37, of Orange, was charged with possession of marijuana after he was pulled over on Finderne Avenue at 2:25 p.m. April 23.
