A man who claimed to have a weapon stole an undisclosed amount of money from a Bridgewater convenience store Tuesday night, authorities said.
A robber struck the Martinsville Krauzer's/ Blimpie's shop at about 9:10 p.m. Tuesday, making off with an undisclosed amount of cash, according to Somerset County Prosecutor Geoffrey D. Soriano, Somerset County Prosecutors Office Chief of County Detectives Timothy Fitzgerald and Bridgewater Township Acting Chief of Police Capt. Manny Caravela.
Detectives are investigating the robbery at the Washington Valley Road store after a store employee reported a white male about 5-foot-7 with a medium build, wearing a black-hooded jacket, black pants, black footwear, black gloves, and what appeared to be a black scarf over his face entered the store and said he had a weapon.
The store employee said the man took an undisclosed amount of currency from the cash register, then left on foot. The employee could not tell which direction the man went, police said.
