A serious motor vehicle accident on Route 22 in Bridgewater, near the intersection of Milltown Road, late Friday afternoon resulted in significant rush-hour traffic delays in the area.
Police closed a portion of Route 22 for more than two hours while the accident was cleared.

The accident, which occurred shortly before 5 p.m., caused at least one vehicle to be severely damaged. The extent of the injuries of those involved was not immediately known.
Police reopened Route 22 at about 7:30 p.m.
