Thomas then parked the car while Goodwin and Budraitis began to walk through the complex, Soriano said. The two were seen approaching one unit and seeming to check the lock on the front door before walking to another unit, where Budraitis rang the doorbell, Soriano said.

According to Soriano, they waited briefly, then Goodwin approached the door. After forcing it open, Goodwin entered the residence and found the homeowner in the entranceway, Soriano said.
