When the fight broke down, Nicaretta said, the school did go into a lockdown situation, which is something that happens to prevent other students from getting hurt. He said that during that time, students are required to be in their classrooms and no one can be walking around in the hallways.

"They have lockdown status whenever there is an incident so no one else can get in the fight," he said. "That's what the school did, and when the police arrived, they took care of it."

Nicaretta said all those charged were released Tuesday.

Representatives from the school did not respond to a call for comment.
