Bridgewater Teen Participates in Washington Conference

A Bridgewater teenager recently got a first-hand look at the workings of the national government.

Mariel Johnson, 18, met Rep. Leonard Lance, R-7, while she was in Washington D.C. recently to take part in the National Young Leaders Conference.

Johnson, the daughter of Robert and Elaine Johnson of Bridgewater, participated in the conference that teaches young people around the country about government and Congress.

The conference, according to the National Young Leaders Conference website, chooses students from around the country to travel to Washington to show them about leadership, while allowing them to discuss current events and issues with policy makers.
